We had this pounded into our head since we were little kids by our parents.
EAT YOUR FRUITS and VEGETABLES !!!
Some of us couldn't leave the table until we finished our veggies....some of us thought that fruits and veggies were a "punishment"...and some of us still carry that resentment of our "fruits and veggies" into becoming adults.
Do we know why our parents pounded that into our heads ??
I mean...do we know PAST the fact that "they are healthy" ??
Well, our parents may not even have known why "eat your fruits and vegetables" was so important, but they knew that it was.
WE ALL KNOW that "it is healthy" to eat your "fruits and veggies".....but do we know HOW healthy they really are ??
Do we know what benefits we are missing from not eating them ??
First let me explain, as I said in another post......drinking "juices from concentrate"....is nowhere even CLOSE to eating the actual fruit.
"From concentrate" means they turned that lovely fruit or veggie into a powder, stripped all of it's goodness and nutrients...then added water back when they needed to use it. The reason they are "enriched with vitamins for your health" is because there WEREN'T ANY after they were done with their processing.
The "juice from concentrate" is now a whole section.....some of them even say they have a "percentage" of real fruit used.
Well.....BIG DEAL.....I can get 100 % real fruit, from eating the real fruit.
We can create a whole section of fake juices, by our demand for them.....but we will NOT just eat the fruit ???
WHY ????
Also, did you know that most 'juices from concentrate" have about 30 grams of sugar per serving ???
You average size candy bar has about 32 grams of sugar....give-or-take a little.
Still think that juice you are drinking, is the same as eating the fruit ??? (and you pay MORE for the fake juice than for the actual fruit)
Some of the ACTUAL BENEFITS from fruit and veggies are SO GREAT they can change our entire health, they can lengthen our life.....but still we avoid them ??
Let's just start with the "common favorites"......
Apples.....they are an anti-inflammatory for the digestive tract, they are a natural antacid (yes, like Tums), they are a soft laxative that eliminates constipation, it can eliminate toxins from the body, they are an anti-cholesterol....and an anti-cancer.
Oranges.....oranges and citrus fruits like Lemons and Grapefruit all have similar properties, though the actual vitamins contained in each vary. They have a
bio-active effect on human health as antioxidant, free radical
scavenger, anti-inflammatory, and immune system modulator, they have almost 100 % of the daily requirement for vitamin C, they boost the immune system and improve circulation, they have been shown to prevent infections and help block tumors of the intestine, they have nutrients that help make red blood cells.
Bananas....Nutritionists and medical researchers say that if there’s only one fruit you can have it’s best to make it a banana.... they have the highest level of dietary fiber of almost all fruits, they provide alot of natural energy (2 bananas will have enough energy value to get you through a typical workout), they help circulation, they help maintain a regular heartbeat, they help restore the bodies Glucose level after exercise.

We hve many more fruits we could discuss, and we haven't even TOUCHED on "veggies" at all yet.
These foods (fruits and veggies) are HIGHLY available, yet most of us do not eat them, or even understand their true value to our workout progress.
ANY reason you have for avoiding them, is FAR outweighed by the reasons you SHOULD eat them.
I will appeal to everyones GREED here.....
Don't you want to be as healthy as you can ???
Don't you want to prevent cancers and diseases in yourself ??
Don't you want to lose fat, and get ripped ??
Don't you want to still feel and be young, even as you get old ???
Then STOP passing by the fruits and veggies when you are shopping....and start loading up on them.
USE their natural goodness, and their natural HEALTH to help you get to your goals, and reach your dreams of a healthy, great body.
They are easy to get.....
They are easy to eat....
They are every bit as sweet as candy...and 1000 times more healthy.

You just had to include cucumbers...YUCK...the only fruit or veg I refuse to eat under any circumstance...lol...anther excellent, 100% spot on article!!
